Ah, what a year. With all the pandemic and stay-at-home situation, we had every right to feel anxious and sad. The previous Pantone color of the year: Classic Blue, was supposed to relax us and calm our nerves but well, we all know how it turned out.
But now, 2021 came, and we are filled with hope for a better tomorrow. Apparently, so is Pantone. For the second time in history, they chose not one but two colors to rule the world of art, design and fashion in the upcoming year: Illuminating and Ultimate Gray.
Clearly independent yet supporting each other, they create a perfect duo. Next to the solidity and calmness of gray, we have yellow optimism and energy, which makes gray the ground for something good to happen. Just like the sun breaking through a cloudy sky, this smart combination of the two autonomous colors gives us a kick of energy and builds faith that everything will be just fine.
This uplifting character of the two Pantone colors of the year 2021, along with their striking contrast, creates an amazing space for creating. People now want to surround themselves with objects that are optimistic, joyful, and nice to look at. While setting a good mood in every interior, it is a perfect combination for wall art and home decor.
