2. A Star Is Born (2018)
Fun fact, this version was actually the fourth version of Hollywood’s tale of love and loss in the music industry. Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut paired with Lady Gaga’s powerhouse performance, made it one of the best-reviewed remakes of the decade. 3. West Side Story (2021)
Steven Spielberg’s movie remake of the 1961 classic musical was both reverent and refreshing. With updated choreography, authentic casting, and Spielberg’s signature cinematic magic, this was one of those rare remakes that critics got behind and even got Ariana DeBose an Oscar for her role as Anita.
4. It (2017)

The original 1978 body-swap comedy was a bit ‘meh’. But the Freaky Friday 2003 movie remake? Now you’re talking. 10. Ghostbusters (2016)
A gender-flipped reboot of the perennial 1984 classic supernatural comedy, this one stirred up a huge debate online. 11. Mean Girls (2024)
