Ranking The Best LEGO Games of All Time

February 10, 2026 by Displate Editorial in Culture & Fandom

From hours, days, and weeks spent putting colorful bricks together to immersing ourselves in video games and spin-offs, LEGO has a legacy that has lasted generations and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

While the analog version of building models will always have a special place in our hearts, there’s something uniquely epic about how these simple bricks have been transformed — through modern technology and collaborations with the most beloved fandoms — into video games that have topped countless charts and fan lists. So we thought we’d join in on the fun and see which brick takes the podium.

Why This List? (The Method, Quick and Nerdy)

As lifelong LEGO game fanatics (seriously, we’ve been smashing virtual bricks since the PS2 era), we couldn’t resist putting together this ranked list. And we didn’t wing it — oh no, not us. We combed through player reviews, Reddit rants, and Metacritic scores. We also considered how these games perform across various consoles: PS4, Switch, 3DS, Wii, and PC.

So, whether you’re reliving nostalgia or hunting for your next 100%-completion obsession, here are the best LEGO games ever made (IMHO).

Let’s get building.

1. LEGO Lord of the Rings – The Precious Pick

Why is it here: Middle-Earth in LEGO form? Yes, please. From the Shire to Mount Doom, this game covers all three movies and still boasts some of the best level design in LEGO gaming history. Be warned: it’s known to be one of the trickier LEGO titles, so it may not be the best one to start your LEGO gaming odyssey with.

Fun Nerd Fact: This was the first LEGO game to use real movie dialog. Yes, that includes full-on dramatic Frodo speeches delivered by a minifig.

2. LEGO Worlds – The Minecraft-style Builder

Why it’s here: Want less story, more sandbox? LEGO Worlds is your jam. It’s a full-blown LEGO builder where you terraform, collect, and create to your heart’s content. Think Minecraft — but with way more studs.

LEGO Worlds is actually two different games in one, each with different objectives. One is an editor that lets you build cool stuff, brick by brick, just like you would with LEGOs in real liufe.  The other is a journey across an infinite number of worlds, where you collect golden bricks by finding hidden chests and completing quests for NPCs.

Fun Nerd Fact: There’s a quest where you have to deliver a toilet to a yeti. No, we’re not making this up.

3. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean – The Underrated Gem

Why it’s here: It may have flown under the radar, but it packs major charm. The swashbuckling levels are gorgeous, the music slaps, and Jack Sparrow’s LEGO swagger is perfectly weird. You can play through all the memorable scenes from all four films — just don’t forget: “Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.”

Fun Nerd Fact: You can unlock a character called “Gunner Zombie,” who fights with a fish. That’s it. That’s the fact.

4. LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures – The Whip-cracking Throwback

Why it’s here: Take classic Spielberg action, add a dash of LEGO chaos, and you get this brilliant adventure. The game is a treat for fans of the India Jones movies (the first three only), taking you on a journey through some of the most iconic scenes (in a kid-friendly way). With perfect puzzles, great local co-op, and a masterful use of John Williams’ score, this is an underappreciated classic, for fans and non-fans alike.

Fun Nerd Fact: Characters are afraid of specific animals. Indy freaks out at snakes. Naturally.

5. LEGO Jurassic World – The Dino-filled Adventure

Why it’s here: Four movies’ worth of chaos, crumbling attractions, and rampaging raptors? Sign us up. LEGO Jurassic World brings dinosaurs to life in blocky brilliance and even lets you play as them. Yes, you can be a T. rex, but the character selection is vast, including all the big names from the first four Jurassic Park movies. Dr. Ian Malcolm always gets our vote.

Fun Nerd Fact: The game uses original voice clips from the films, which makes every chaotic scene 10x funnier when paired with LEGO visuals.

6. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga – The Classic Favorite

Why it’s here: Before The Skywalker Saga came from a galaxy far, far away, this was the LEGO Star Wars experience. It combines Episodes I through VI into one glorious retro package, with co-op that still holds up. A great choice for anyone chasing nostalgic vibes.

Fun Nerd Fact: It introduced the now-infamous “stud magnet” red brick, which every completionist lives for.

7. LEGO City Undercover – The GTA Parody in Bricks

Why it’s here: Imagine Grand Theft Auto, but instead of crime, chaos, and gun-toting baddies, you get slapstick, disguises, and a cop named Chase McCain. The game is perfect for kids — or anyone new to gaming. The city is a massive, gorgeous open world split into distinct districts, each with its own identity. One minute you could be driving around a district modeled after San Francisco or New York; the next, you’re cruising through open farmland. LEGO City Undercover is a rare original-IP LEGO game, and it absolutely rules.

Fun Nerd Fact: There are over 15 disguises that give Chase new powers, including a miner who can blow up rocks with dynamite. Totally normal.

8. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes – The Fan-favorite Crossover

Why it’s here: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is nothing short of a homage to the Marvel universe, packing in 150 playable characters and locations from X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and more. There’s also a huge, New York-based hub world to explore between missions (anyone who fancies scaling the Statue of Liberty is in for a treat). And let’s not forget the iconic Marvel banter we all love. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is still the gold standard for LEGO superhero games. Sorry, DC.

Fun Nerd Fact: Yes, you can play as both Squirrel Girl and Galactus. Range.

9. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes – The One with a Talking Batman

Why it’s here: This was the game that gave LEGO characters actual voices — and guess what? It worked. Gotham City is sprawling, the Justice League makes appearances, and Batman’s deadpan lines are genuinely funny. It hit that perfect sweet spot of brooding heroics and LEGO slapstick. For us, DC Super Heroes is everything a fan of Batman could ever want, bundled up in a fun, highly playable LEGO game. It also appeals to DC fans in general, with the full roster of characters included — something for everyone.

Fun Nerd Fact: This was the first LEGO game to feature a fully explorable open world. Take that, Batmobile.

10. LEGO Harry Potter Collection – The Magical Bundle

Why it’s here: This collection remasters Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 into one tidy package for modern consoles. It captures the whimsy and darkness of Hogwarts perfectly, and it’s packed with secret rooms, potion mishaps, and surprisingly emotional moments that you wouldn’t necessarily expect from a LEGO game. Some fans love the fact that they were made back in the days when LEGO didn’t use actual dialog for cutscenes — they say it makes everything funnier because characters have to mime everything. Others? Not so much.

Fun Nerd Fact: There are over 200 characters to unlock, including obscure favorites like the Fat Friar.

11. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – The Ultimate Space Adventure

Why it’s here: This massive galaxy-spanning epic lets you play through all nine Star Wars episodes with upgraded visuals, combat, and voice acting. It will keep you entertained for eternity, packed with tons to do and collect — catering both to casual Star Wars fans and to those who instantly recognize a minifig based on 8D8… IYKYK. The open-world design is enormous and full of Easter eggs for even the most die-hard Jedi.

Fun Nerd Fact: It contains over 1,000 collectible Kyber Bricks. That’s enough to build an actual LEGO Death Star IRL (probably).

Which LEGO Game Should You Play?

Picking a LEGO game can feel like trying to choose your favorite minifig in a blind bag, tricky but fun. Here’s a quick cheat sheet:

  • For Story Lovers: Go Star Wars or Harry Potter.
  • For Younger Players: LEGO City Undercover or LEGO Jurassic World.
  • For Classic Fans: The Complete Saga or Indiana Jones.
  • For Builders: LEGO Worlds.

Bottom line? LEGO video games aren’t just for kids; they’re chaotic, charming, and often downright brilliant. Whether you’re on PS4, Switch, Wii, 3DS, or PC, there’s a perfect LEGO game waiting to be replayed (or discovered for the first time).
