• Every tool fully upgraded to Iridium quality.
• Produce and forage shipped: every shippable item logged at least once, including the awkward ones like Coffee, Rainbow Shell, and the top-tier variants of animal products, such as truffles or cheese.
• Obelisks and Golden Clock: all four obelisks built on your farm plus the 10,000,000g clock.
• Monster slayer goals: every Adventurer’s Guild eradication goal completed.
• Great friendship: maximum hearts with every villager.
• Stardrops, cooking, crafting, fishing, and walnuts: all seven Stardrops, every recipe cooked and crafted, every fish caught, and all 130 Golden Walnuts on Ginger Island, or Joja’s decision tree path collectibles if you prefer.

The in-game Stardew Valley perfection tracker lives on Ginger Island, in Qi’s Walnut Room. Talking to the Perfection Tracker statue gives you a percentage plus a breakdown of what is still missing.

The 2026 Cozy Games We Are Waiting For

Witchbrook

Chucklefish’s magic school life sim has been in development since 2017. The developer has confirmed that it is aiming for a 2026 release, but said a specific date would not come until the team is completely confident in the game. Playtesting has wrapped up, and the team is now working through fixes, gameplay tweaks, and additional content.

Witchbrook is planned for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox. 

Fields of Mistria

This is the release to plan for. NPC Studio has confirmed Fields of Mistria leaves early access on August 5, 2026.

The 1.0 update brings more romance, marriage and children, alongside more dungeons, quests, request board tasks, museum sets, skill perks, furniture, decor, and skins. The town restoration storyline will also be completable, making it a top future Stardew Valley alternative.

The catch is the platform. Fields of Mistria remains a PC exclusive on Steam, which means handheld gamers will be limited to a Steam Deck.

Haunted Chocolatier

The maker of Stardew Valley, Eric Barone, first announced Haunted Chocolatier in 2021, and fans have been waiting ever since. We were updated in 2026 with a post explaining that the developer is spending time on both Haunted Chocolatier and Stardew Valley. To explain a lack of gameplay screens and updates, Barone compared showing unfinished features to serving half-baked bread.

Released worldwide in March 2026, Pokopia casts you as a Ditto imitating a human, developing a post-apocalyptic world and helping the Pokémon you find along the way. 

Ditto learns moves from other Pokémon and relies on them as tools, so Bulbasaur’s Leafage adds greenery and Squirtle’s Water Gun waters your crops. Build furniture, grow vegetables, make homes, greet friends, and enjoy the world’s day-to-night cycle.

Moonlight Peaks

You play as a vampire in a magical town of witches, werewolves, and mermaids, with mystical crops, potion-making, spell-casting, and romance. There are similarities to Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and you can customize your character, decorate your farm, romance the locals, and make your family proud.

Moonlight Peaks has been out since July 2026 on PC (Steam), Switch, Switch 2, and Android. 

Best for: anyone who wants a cozy game with plenty of designing and decorating options. 

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an obvious choice for anyone in search of a cozy handheld game to immerse themselves in, and an enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 port arrived at the start of 2026.

Will it appeal to players who have reached Stardew Valley perfection? We think so. While there’s no tick-box grind, New Horizons runs in real time, and weather tracks the seasons of whichever hemisphere you are actually in. 

It’s a charming game without the grind, and so this pick is for anyone who wants to break away and just relax.

Best for: decompression. Come here to design something and enjoy in-game days rather than reach a perfect game state.

Fae Farm

The closest thing on Switch to a straight Stardew successor when it comes to farming, Fae Farm is just that: a farming simulator. You inherit a plot in a magical world, grow crops, brew potions, go fishing, and clear dungeons, with a solid four-player co-op feature if you want to play with friends.

The pacing is gentler than Stardew’s, with no energy management and no day that ends in a blackout at 2 am and a pricey visit to the doctor. If the mines and the Community Center deadline were the parts you enjoyed least of reaching Stardew Valley perfection, this game might be a perfect option for you. However, it doesn’t have the NPC social element that made Stardew Valley shine.

Best for: co-op. This is the one to start with a partner or a friend and play casually.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure

You might not think it considering Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s kawaii look, but this game has taken many players by surprise at how it requires a daily grind – something that many Stardew Valley perfectionists will enjoy.

It’s slow-paced and relaxing, but for some quests, upgrades, and collectibles, you will need to visit your island every day.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure came to Switch, PC, and PS5 in 2025. It is a collectathon wrapped in a life sim, with a large island to unlock and a friendship system that rewards the same daily habits Stardew trained into you.

Best for: players who enjoy the grind.

The Deck’s real advantage is the back catalog. Anything you are waiting for on Switch, you can usually already play here, as the Steam Deck allows you to play PC games as long as they are available in the Steam library.

• Roots of Pacha swaps the farm for a Stone Age clan, where you develop culture, tools, and relationships as your settlement evolves.
